Biographie
Jouissant d'une très bonne réputation dans le milieu underground du heavy metal, le groupe se forme en 1999, sous le nom de DragonHeart, avec des membres de différents horizons (Hong Kong, Ukraine, Nouvelle-Zélande ou encore France pour le premier batteur). Ils jouent alors un power metal très rapide et mélodique, qu'ils qualifient eux mêmes d'«extreme power metal». En 2003, ils changent de nom pour ne pas être confondus avec un groupe brésilien du même nom et deviennent DragonForce. Cette même année sort leur premier album, Valley of the Damned, qui leur permet de faire les premières parties de groupes très connus comme Helloween, W.A.S.P., Iron Maiden ou encore Angra. Ils repoussent les limites du speed metal en 2004 avec Sonic Firestorm en jouant à une vitesse rarement atteinte dans le genre (environ à 220 BPM pour la majorité de leur chansons issues de cet album !! ). Ils signent avec Roadrunner Records en 2005 et sortent Inhuman Rampage en 2006 qui s'inscrit directement dans la continuité de leurs précédents albums, en étant toujours aussi rapide.[/align]
